About The Nature's Magic Collection

Since I first began creating natural soy candles in 2013, much has changed... while some things have remained exactly the same.

Nature's Magic has been my signature collection since the very beginning. Since before I even chose to name it as such! Since the very first Harvest candle was made in my childhood home on a Fall night while my dad & I watched the Hunt For Red October.

Everything I create in the moon den is born from a feeling. A sudden spark of inspiration arises, a desire to capture the energy of a moment and share it via fragrance. I remember that early October night so vividly. The house was covered in Halloween decorations (my mom never skimped out), orange lights were glowing, and the smell of pomegranate & cinnamon truly completed the moment.

From the cozy warmth of Autumn nights to the vibrant days of Spring, every Nature's Magic candle is crafted to soothe the soul, while celebrating the shifting of the seasons. Every burn is a sacred moment, an opportunity to be present, a delightful indulgence for all your senses.

And though my personal experiences have inspired each fragrance, I have no doubt that you will create your own meaning, and certain candles will become familiar, trusted companions.

Of course, it would be foolish to suggest that burning a candle could alleviate things like anxiety & issues with mood that seasonal shifts often stir up. But, I do believe that creating routines & reliable practices that employ all of our senses can lead to more embodied, grounded states of being. Maybe I'm overly optimistic. But mindful sacred rituals have helped me overcome existential despair more than once.

Perhaps that's a ramble for another day.

From mentally conceptualizing each candle, to physically pouring pots of melted wax, the art of candle-making is a labor of love. No name chosen haphazardly. No essential oil blend incorporated without multiple trials.

Take Luna for example. I was inspired to blend Lavender with a touch of Coconut. Something about the blend gave me a feeling of peace, and compelled me to dim the lights, swap my contacts for glasses, and grab a blanket before doing some restorative yoga. To name the candle Tranquility felt too specific. Who am I to guarantee instant serenity? I'm always a bit put off by things like candles & perfumes that boast some kind of definitive result. So I took more time, lighting the few test candles over a period of weeks. Then the word arrived. Luna. Of course!

The graphic designs are a new addition to these labels, which we worked on between March & December of 2023. Each season as I created new batches of candles, I sketched my ideas for each fragrance. My partner, Dom, then took my doodles & digitized them with skill, transforming all those pencil scribbles into beautiful images that convey exactly what I'd envisioned for each candle.

While we worked on this reimagining of labels, the collection name, Nature's Magic, came through. It was an instant moment of clarity.

Nature's Magic candles are offered in two sizes:

• 7 oz Mason Jars

• 16 oz Apothecary Jars

If you are like me, lighting a candle in the morning, letting it burn for the full length of the day, then Apothecary Jars are for you. If you burn candles for only a few hours at a time or have very small rooms with minimal ventilation, opt for the Mason Jars. Mason Jars are also a wonderful size for activity-based burns (maybe you're doing homework, practicing yoga, or reading for an hour before bed) or gift giving.
