Today we welcome a new collection of hand crafted candles inspired by eternal love & mysterious moonlight ~
This collection is a tribute to the many influential books, movies, & songs that continue to keep my love aflame for all things dark & beautiful. I was only fifteen when my grandmother gifted me her collection of Anne Rice novels, and they remain some of my most beloved possessions, resting upon a bookshelf here in the moon den with their tattered covers & yellowed pages.
I'm not sure how much else I want to say at the moment, but as with all things, there is music. My desire to curate a vibe can sometimes veer toward obsession, but I deeply enjoy the process of following a series of feelings through sound. Here's what I've created if it interests. Maybe you'll be inspired to create your own mix, pulling tracks that delight your own otherworldly senses.
A note now on an earlier offering of dark & otherworldly candles...
In January of 2022, I made a batch of candles inspired by a fun cosmic moment. I was anticipating a Venus-Mars conjunction for 2/16/22, which was to occur (only) 5 degrees away from a point where it had occurred 60 years prior...on the birthday of vocalist Peter Steele, of the band Type O Negative. So there was this blending of Mars & Venus symbolism (think: desire which is to be reveled in, expressed fully, deeply revered, and indulged in with the whole heart), which I found myself contemplating through the lens of albums like October Rust & Bloody Kisses.

Those candles were a wonderful tribute to the moment, and the process reminded me how interconnected my many different passions are. But I found myself unsatisfied with the quality of the labels & the opaqueness of the jars, so I went off in search of better materials.
While on this search, I kept feeling inspired to include more variety within the collection, expanding from just TypeO themed creations.
I wanted to pair new fragrances with ALL the things that soothe my existential heart. I wanted burning each candle to transport us to those iconic scenes where Gary Oldman floats across the room, or Bela Lugosi summons us near.
The complicated coexistence of beauty & tragedy in stories of the undead is something that does not cease to enthrall. In some ways it is ironically almost too human.
I'm sure that those of you who understand will love these candles to death.
There are now five Love, Remembered candles, each reflecting something deeply meaningful to me in the realms of love, yearning, and mortality. As candles are added this post will be updated, and though each name has been derived from a specific source, I would invite you to still create your own meaning.
